We have tried many different ladders and found this one to be the most sturdy, simple and easy to use. Smooth edges are easier on the hands. This rear ladder does not require any drilling of the body to install on to a Defender. Excellent for use with a roofrack. You will need to drill the two lower bolt holes in the ladder yourself as all Defenders are hand built and line up differently.
